Social Change Central Marks Successful Completion of a Decade of Impact, Transitioning Resources to Social Enterprise Australia
28 April 2026 – After a decade of connecting, informing, and supporting Australia’s social enterprises, Social Change Central today announced that it will complete this chapter and transition key assets - its Resource Library and News Archive - to Social Enterprise Australia. This marks the successful completion of a decade-long initiative that played a foundational role in building Australia’s social enterprise sector.
This milestone reflects a long-planned transition by the founders to ensure the ongoing impact of the work. Over ten years, Social Change Central became a trusted national platform, sharing more than a million opportunity alerts and newsletters with a community of over 50,000 changemakers, and curating hundreds of practical resources, including guides, tools, and templates.
Social Enterprise Australia has purchased the Resource Library and News Archive to support ongoing use by the sector. These resources will be reviewed and, where suitable, curated and integrated into the sector’s shared infrastructure - its knowledge commons, Understorey - ensuring they remain accessible and continue to benefit social enterprises across Australia.
“Social Change Central has built an incredible foundation of knowledge and community over the past decade,” said Jess Moore, CEO of Social Enterprise Australia. “We’re pleased to hold their Resource Library and News Archive; resources that will be reviewed and, where suitable, curated and integrated into the sector’s knowledge commons - Understorey.”
“The social enterprise ecosystem has matured since 2016. The existence of stronger national infrastructure today is itself part of the story of the sector’s progress. It felt like the right moment to complete this chapter and transition what we’ve built into its next phase,” said Jay Boolkin, Social Change Central Co-Founder. “We’re proud of the role Social Change Central has played in supporting the sector’s growth and development over the past decade.”
“We’re deeply grateful to the community, partners, supporters, and funders who made this work possible,” added Anne Lennon, Social Change Central Co-Founder. “We wanted to pass the baton on this work, and are confident the sector is now well placed to carry it forward, This transition reflects a shared commitment to ensuring the long-term strength and sustainability of the social enterprise ecosystem.”
Social Change Central’s platform will cease operations on 15 May 2026. Current subscribers will be contacted directly with information about transition arrangements.
